Any body know of the laws for detecting on a small island in the middle of an inlet? The island is not owned, almost all beach, and am sure that when past hurricanes have gone through the island was under water. Would the same laws apply here as the beach laws? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

wreckdiver,,,thanks once again. The area I am talking about might very well be from dredging, but many ships have sunk in this area. Any "treasure" that was on the bottom of the inlet, would thus be transfered to the island, right? Any past storms would wash "treasure" onto the island right? Once again, thanks for the help.

Glad someone asked the island question... it's something that I've been wondering about for a while, but assumed it should be ok since it's in the middle of the inlets.
