Flying with my detecror?

Does anyone know if i can carry my MD on the plain with me? I am Headed to Puerto Rico to try my luck with the beaches and need to know if they will let me take it on with me?

Just throw your owners manual in the bag right on top before you close it. No Worries!

The Wife and I are gong to Jamaica in Sept.Went to the Airport,could'nt believe all the BLUE SHIRTS.I asked a TSA lady about MD's,she said,yes we use them,so I explained exactly what I wanted to do, her response was,you have to check with the airlines.I then proceded to ask the AA ticket agent,she said,you have to ask TSA,so much for people in the know!!!!I'm going to carry on the box and coil,shaft going in luggage.Sure hope you score the BIG ONE!!!!!!!

You should do well here , The other nite was noche de san juan and the beachs were full of people all nite long. Good luck and you might want to try some of the areas away from san juan beachs.

I took mine with me last year because I knew I would have some time to hunt. I had no problems. I bought the hard case from White's and it fit perfect in the overhead. It is padded and has the cut outs for your parts. One tip is to measure the size of the case you are going to use and call the airline you are flying on and find out if it will fit in the overhead. Most larger airliners will but the smaller ones won't. I would highly recommend taking it as a carry on. I don't trust the luggage handlers. Like you I was nervous at first but now I have no problems or fears taking it with me.

Work is bringing me from New Hampshire to San Jose CA on July 10 for 2 weeks. I want to bring my detector with me and was wondering the same thing.

I can bring 2 carry on bags. I figured that 1 would be cloths and the lap top and the other will be my detector.

We are flying South West. Anyone know if they will let me bring my detector on as a carry on? There is no way I'd put it in with the luggage. It either flys with me or it stays home.

Is it possible to rent a detector in San Jose?

I thought maybe I should add something, Be careful where you go and at what time you go. If I were you I would try to avoid empty beachs and wouldn't be out after dark unless there are others on the beach with you. Since friday we have had 9 murders in the San Juan area alone and 18 for the whole of the island. 548 so far this year. Take a friend if you can and keep one ear open if using earphones. While most are drug/gang related it is not unheard of to robbed of just a few dollars. the convention district has a few beachs and the hotels around the marin airport have some security and usually have people on the beach all day and at times til late at nite. Plus there are some ritzy places there ! good finds to be had if you play it safe.
