What do you think guys? Is this legit? The time period is right. I have watched documentaries that had GW and his brother in law surveying in Ohio under the pretext of the government at some point allowing the ownership of Ohio lands. They were said to have staked our 50,000 acres in 1771.
Just wanted your opinion.

Wade

It might help if I remembered to post the link! Sorry!

My opinion is ligit, but can't assume GW w/o initials engraved too. I'd love to find an engraved rock from that time period.

You should call Scott Walter of America unearthed to investigate this. If he could prove this, it would be the first thing he proved in 3 seasons of his show.

One can always dream....

If George Washington was the only G Washington in the entire colonies or Ohio at that time, then maybe

Someone like George Washington must have had someone look at his life, was he known for marking his name and date on rocks while surveying?

Everyone needs a hero but once you actually study his life it's not as history portrays him! He was a military failure for 20 + years then Valley forge made him a hero!

Wade

Well, maybe that was a little strong but still he managed to almost single handedly start the french and indian war. And then of course there was splitting his troops in two groups and killing 38 of his own men when they meet up in the fog. He was no Norman Schwarzkopf !
