I was looking at old maps again this week and identified 5 prospective sites in a three county area. Woke up early this morning and headed out while the dew was thick. Too early to see people out in their yards and get another permission, so I ended up going to my latest one. After digging a few targets I had a feeling that told me to hit route 20 West and check out a few of those sites. The one on my mind and in my gut is in a very small town (the firehouse/municipal building lot). On the way there I turned down a side street in another town. Ended up hunting the park and pulled $6.60 in clad. Then I continued on to the firehouse/muni bldg. Not many targets, but I did pull my 4th LC, an 1853 Braided Hair.
I hit a couple more sites and scouted out another before heading homeward. My gut told me to go back to that park I hunted in route early. I hunted for about 45 minutes and dug $1.62 in clad and also pulled a 1954 Rosie.
Always follow your gut.
Some of the other finds were 2 wheats (44 & 46), a shell token, old pocket knife, 2 buttons, parts of 2 locks & a gold plated piece.
