Hey Bravo... Found this about 3 months ago, just haven't posted it yet. Found it along the edge of the Colorado river here in TX. Different material, and the flaking isnt as pronounced, but it looks identical in shape to the one you found that's posted on your topic HEY ALL YOU TEXICANS. It's a cool piece... Enjoy

Yes, Sir both are certainly very similar. Nearly identical. That hi ridge down the center as well as the sythe shape. And both are uniface. I've not seen any like them before, but I am uneducated in these matters. They are certainly blades for cutting. It does not appear to me that they would have been hafted. Maybe we can get an opinion. I'm very curious myself, because of their unique shape and style.
Here is mine again for comparison. No one, as yet, has come across with a name for this type.

Oh, disregard the fur near the end. It is my wifes' cats' foot. She was trying to assist with the pics.

Similar in shape, and similar in function. Illustrations of two different ways to get to more or less the same place.

AB's was taken off a blade core. The two long removals that form the top, and the blow that removed the whole thing all run from the pointed end. The delta at the other end shows that the removals weren't running long enough the way he was doing it, and were terminating all over the place, so he took the end of it off.

BW's came from a cobble being reduced (you can see the cortex on the left end), probably being shaped mostly by removals from both sides converging in the center ridge.

Great explanation UNIFACE, I think it's a good one. It seems like mine hasn't been worked as much on the facial side, but the edges all the way around have been touched up to sharpen the blade. I think it was used a couple times then discarded. I think it's early to say the least, and that goes for Bravo's piece as well. Nice blades, and mine is in a frame with the rest of my early pieces like the Limace, etc.. Thanks Uni...
