Spring is late here,
But as I promised here are the first of the peonies.
They are open just this morning and as you can see a multitude yet to come.
If they don't get cooked in the bud.
When it warms up it will do it fast and it will be 100 degrees quick.

Happy Memorial Day.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! So pretty! I say thank-you too! I bet they smell heavenly when your out on your porch! :icon_sunny:

Evy,
These are the first,
There are stands of these all over the yard and they are not even opening yet.
But just these few have filled up the whole front yard with fragrance.

Thank goodness I was able to be on the site tonight !! Your Peonies are beautiful. Good Blessings come to those that grow peonies :) Old Chinese proverb

Thanks Thom, mine are still afraid to pop out as of yet :D. Can't blame them, we may get a light frost Thurs. >:( If you don't like the weather in New England just wait a minute. :D

Kim,
I know what you mean,
The way they have always said it here...
"If you don't like the weather here, walk down the road a little ways."

These are just starting, look at all the buds that have yet to break.
I have red , white , and variegated as well as some fancy ones.
so there is a lot more to come
I have a feeling it will all happen at once too.

A weird year.
LOL

Thom,

Great photos. Looks like those were worth waiting for and now you get to enjoy the smells those beauties put out.! :icon_sunny:

Thanks Wes,
They are just starting,
Usually they are all finished by now.

The last time they were this late was in the early 80s.
Seems to me they had to close I70 then due to flooding as well.

The river came halfway up the lower pasture back then.
it was eerie to listen to as it went by.

They are beautiful!! The most I have seen here is two blooms on the bleeding heart. lol Soon, maybe? :tongue3:

Love that avatar Thom.

I heard on the news today that if Americans were to cut back on their usage that prices would stay high due to other nation's use. I find that a bit hard to believe.

Decided on that one instead of another

am looking into the idea of making my own fuel.

Hmmmm
We'll see.

You'll smell like french fries going down the road if you're thinking of used cooking oil! :icon_scratch:

I had a Great Uncle who used to make enough grain alcohol to run his tractors.

It shouldn't be that hard to figgure out.
you can use any organic material ...and sugar.

LOL
could br fun,
Thom

hmmmm not sure if that would smell better or worse than the fries.....might have to take a field sobriety test or two though! ;D

Here are a few more that were open this mporning.
I managed to catch them before the wind got too bad.
