Went to an old coastal area with a lot of 17th century history on Sunday. Heavy mist began upon arrival but away we went. I first found three pieces of flint along the shore which is not native to our area. Moved about 50 yards inland and started picking up iron hits about 7"-9" deep. Mostly iron forged nails & what appears to be blade tips of some sort?? Then my second last hit prior to the rain was half of a cannon ball? Hollow on the inside and almost perfectly round on the outside minus the mineral build up. The ball was split in two with only one half found. The rain started and we had to bug out... Can't wait for next weekend. Pretty stoked about this area. Research over the winter on this area is maybe paying off. Sure looks like a cannon ball to me. Square nails a good sign for sure.

Hard one to call. In the right time zone withthe nails and in the right area with the British and French going at it!
