Fort Ancient????

WT heck is a Fort Ancient site? Is it merely an old Amerind/military installation?
I don't get it. At least I kept my mouth shut until I gleaned the truth about in-situ pics.

Im not clear on that either, but modern man did give all these relics "their own" name, type, ect, usually by the town closest to the site where found. and by what they thought it resembled,(dovetail) if you think bout it real hard, it really dont make much sense to just give it whatever name comes to mind..I wonder if early man had a name/type to his objects?

ft ancient sites are mississippian time frame centered around the ohio river, there is an actual site in ohio called ft ancient but it is a hopewell site

Here you go bravo. This should help you understand the culture better. The Ft Ancient is the most recent culture, existing from around 950 to 1650 AD.
