Messy indeed, but a kinda pretty red carpet. These trees have certainly inspired, and financially sustained, the school of artists known as The Highwaymen. I guess Beanie Backus would be the most famous. They were so named for selling their brightly colored paintings along the highways of south central Florid to the passing tourists.
