Fossil or petrified wood? Found on FL beach

Found on the east coast of Florida.
I originally thought this was petrified wood, but.. it happens to stick to the tongue (after thoroughly cleaning it) so im not sure. Unless that's just from being in saltwater?

But another thing is, if you'll notice, it has these dark brown lines on the inside of it (see 2nd picture). I'd really like to know if its the internal structure of bone? they seem to continue all the way down the inside.

You have an interesting piece there. When you enlarge the photos it exhibits characteristics of fossilized bone with mineralization. Nice find.

Maybe not the best indicator but sometimes I look at the holes. The holes in bones are where veins pass through and they always form at an angle pointing towards the trunk of the body... so if the holes in your piece are all oriented the same way could be another hint it’s bone.
