that looks like a rock to me. I've looked at pages and pages of Fossilized Sequoia tree wood and none of them look like that specimen.
 

I agree, it doesn't look like petrified wood to me. I am a lapidary and cut and polish pet wood from all over the world and the shown piece doesn't look like wood to me at all.

....seriously, how hard can it be? for instance Wikipedia is run by volunteers and is fact checked CONSTANTLY. Sure, folk try to mess with it all the time, but by and large, those "edits" are quickly "edited". What I always find humorous is the folk that say don't trust Wikipedia, do your own research, and then send you to other sites...that quote or plagiarize ...WIKIPEDIA.

I agree with you on the mods here, they are excellent.
