Fossils or Geofacts?

My son found these in a gravel pit. He says the pit is full of them. To us they look like fossilized pieces of coral, but I know how deceiving some things can be. The bigger pieces are about 5" long. So, what do you think? Fossils, or rocks? Thanks.

I'm thinking iron concretions but wait for a pro for a real answer.

FWIW my metals detector does not go off on these things. Not sure if that rules out iron concretions or not, but there is no iron in them anymore, if ever there was. Does anyone else have an idea? Petrified dog doo-doo? Anything?

Look like Ironstone concretions (more or less composed of Fe2O3) but perhaps might be casts of burrows.

These pieces lack the fine detail I've seen in the pictures of bryozoan fossils, but the shape seems spot on. I never even considered that they could be burrow casts, that's an interesting theory.
