Thanks steve. ok, I'm easily amused, entertained, AND wowed! ;D I still say what a cool find. steve71 told me he has found more than a couple of these, and they tend to fall apart easily. I asked him to post it here so more people would see it. Who knew they(mammoths) lived in south Texas? ::) Ya learn something new everyday on this forum.

so how far south did they live? mexico? south America? south america forsure called the colombian mammoth which had no hair.
 
Wow, interesting find. I bring home fossils but nothing like that. I bet he had fun lugging that out
of the field. I have more big rocks in my rock pile than arrowheads. Most of mine were used as grinding stones.

Thata is just plain Great ! Congrats on some excellent finds. That tusk has to be worth a fortune.
