Today my wife and I had a full day of work on the lawn,We sat and watched the local weather they said it was going to be nice today, with rain and snow the rest of the week.I looked at her and asked( wanna go swingin) She said lets go! So we blew off the yard work.

Over the winter I did some research on the net, gathered up some old maps.marked some interesting sites,Then started asking a few questions to a few locals in the area of the prospected site,Come to find out thier used to be a park back in the woods across the creek,No clear map of the exact spot,so today we were ready to find the park site.

My wife and I arrived at the site at 10:30 am. She grabbed her XLT and I grabbed my M6 MATRIX,and headed down a old cattle path across the creek We searched for two hours. We meet on the back side of a cleared area, sat down and looked at the the area from the other end.We started back to were we came from.I just rentered the woods and bang a solid 18-20 at 2 inches, out pops a 1912 V nickel,Instantly I thought could this be the park site,Within 5 minutes,I hear a woo-hoo from my wife Tammy along the edge of the creek, she said I have Silver!!! It was a SEATED 1875 Quarter,I almost fell over We high fived eachother and got serious,Lets just say thier was alot of woo-hoos today,Our totals are 1875 seated quarter ,1888 v nickel ,1897 barber dime ,1892 indian , 2- 1899 indians , 2- 1900indians,2- 1901 barber dimes ,1907 indian, and a 1912 v nickel and a gold pin,a silver pin and a gold plated pin What a day woo- hoo! KEEP SWINGIN

Great jobSSSS. Research, talking to the locals. putting 2 and 2 together. Postponing the lawn work. :tongue3: And, of course, the finding of the coins.
And......perhaps the most important of all......done together with the one you love. Drawing the two of you together around a shared interest. (Now, don't
fight over who gets which coin..... :'()
Must have been a great day, for the both of you......congrats. :thumbsup:do it again.

Great looking finds, that park definatly has some potential for future hunting.

Woo!! Hoo's!! all round. Great silver finds. :icon_king: :icon_queen:

Ya who needs a nice lawn ;D Great finds, got to be happy with the outcome of the research.

Where did you say this was located??? Just kidding! Keep that one a secret, pound it hard and come back to it every year. Good luck!

Looking forward to more finds from "The Park in the Woods" all summer long.  ( That's where I would be )
The heck with the grass ... Buy a "Goat"... go back to the woods...

Wow ! What a great bunch of old coins - and all in one hunt - amazing ! Argentium.

That is an amazing story! What is even more amazing is that possibly nobody has detected the spot before. I have plenty of those spots that had been used for recreation more than 100 years ago, but all of them have been detected before.

Congratulations!
Neil

What a hunt. Those kinds of hunts are few & far between. I know you are going to pound that place. Congratulations to both of you.
