Found a 18?? Sheild Nickel

How can I clean it, it was in the water, looks like mold and stuff on it. I tried baking soda, it worked ok, but I need to clean it more to see the date.

Help?

If you have some ammonia, you could try some of that on it using a Q tip. Ammonia is a bit harsher on nickels than pennies I think, by the way.
