Found a few keepers!! Eagle Medallion?

Found these today, maybe someone knows what the eagle piece is? Found in Southern Colorado. It has writing around the head!

Nice fob, be interesting to hear the dating on this one.
Mid 1800's?

The eagle piece looks like a watch fob. The head looks like an early Abraham Lincoln profile with his large ears and beard.

Thanks for the posts, the head piece popped out while cleaning it. I glued it back. In a few days when I get home, I'll try to read the words around the head.

Thanks, I just learned it is a Miraculas Medal, sometimes they were buried on purpose. I need to read up on this. Thanks for the post!!
