These are my first finds in Germany. A clay marble, old flat button with the loop and a very old coin size of a dime approx...maybe some help on it? But a incredible day to say the least. IMG_20181210_073003.webpIMG_20181210_072850.webp

Thank you!! Wish i knew what coin that is hahaha

What would be the best way to clean it? I must do so very gently..

I would stay away from any soap/water and just use a toothbrush or toothpick.

Sometimes you are only going to be able to see so much detail, dependent on age/soil conditions. A focused close-up picture could suffice if you don't want to clean it.

Here is a better photo cleaned best I could. Best detailed side....I tested for silver and it's not. So I'm led to believe copper or bronze?IMG_20181210_131405.webp

Nice finds, Congrats!! And Welcome to TNet!!!

Maybe an older pfennig. Have fun in Germany. When my wife and I were there on vacation a few years ago I saw a guy detecting in an old field while we were being transported to Salzburg, Austria in a bus full of tourists. Would have loved to stop and check him out.

Great finds good beer good find awesome post hope you get an Id

Thank you guys. It's a really nice experience. I look forward to heading back to the field today. Will keep u posted.

I sent the coin to a numeristics experts and it is confirmed that this coin is a 16th century pilgerpfennig from Kleve. My first coin dug in Germany is the oldest so far. Wow!
