I found a lead bag seal in a park where I?ve been finding a lot of 1800?s things, it?s clearly 2 parts pressed together and appears to have (possibly) the letters ?CPCCO.? And the letter ?V? stamped on it, it?s about the size of a quarter but thicker. Any clue how old it might be? What it might have been used for or who it was from? I never expected to find such a thing and I?m a bit perplexed!

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Awesome find, although I wish I could help.

I would first research local railroads in the area.

That seems to be pretty crude.. even for a lead seal. Looks like an amateur pour cast of some sort .

Yeah it’s the simplest seal I’ve ever seen, but it’s unmistakable what it is when you look at it closely.

Yeah body I have a bag seal that I could read a couple of letters and I wish I could clean it or even do electrolysis on it but I was told when it comes down to lead you just gotta take what you got. If I?m wrong please let me know. Anyway congratulations seal.

can you post some side shots and one of the other side.
