Hunting a turn of the century park I dug this old needle. It's a welcome change from the needles I usually find in the park. Any help with age would be greatly appreciated.
 

Grease syringe ?

I tend to agree that it is some sort of lube device. Note the threaded end where a grease fitting may have been attached. Also, it looks like the plunger rod is threaded which suggests that the plunger was screwed down rather than pressed.

If that is a hypodermic device, I'd sure hate to get that shot!

Found similar. Was listed as 7" Coleman Air Pump. In Google images.
