Found a pipebomb?

I was digging at an old old school, out near a field, it's not very close to the school, probably 300 feet away. Found a black and white wire, I grabbed it before knowing it was a wire, and nothing happened, dug more and found orange, green, yellow, purple, blue, etc. The ends weren't live but I kept digging and they got really close together like I've found the end, and found some type of weird rubber, and it was good size, so I yanked it up a little bit and looked under it, and found some light blue metal. All of it is round shaped, I am wondering if I found an old bomb or something used in a bomb scare at the school. It got too dark to dig anymore, so I will go back tomorrow with a big shovel and dig the thing out.

Yeah it's risky, but I just have to know. If it starts looking really bad, like find a timer or something, I am going to scream, run to the car, and call in the bomb squad. But I am going to dig a little more around it, and if it is electrical, I will just re-bury it.

i think sniffy is right now that i see all those diff. colored wires. i think most home made bombs only have one or two. the ones i made out of my dad's gun powder, what a brat, were mechanically fired or with a trail of gun powder lit by a match. glad i'm not a kid now. i'd be in the crow bar hotel.

I did find a real pipe bomb once at a motel at worked at years ago. Called the police and they just took away but my car did get on the news that night in the background of the feild reporterdoing his report.

Ditto on the wire splice. I rewired a well a couple years ago and the waterproof splices sound just like you described. And, btw, wire to wells are color coded with multicolored wires.

That is really scary.
