That's nice! Is it off of one of those brooches?

No, its a Roman bronze pendant in the shape of a sword/dagger favoured by the military :icon_thumright:

I bet you hope that field never ends :icon_thumleft:

Please be careful with that beast! What a nasty looking weapon! Nice Find. Do You know the use of it? Roman paper knifes are not very common i think...

The copper round in the background...isn't that an archaic hammered coin :icon_scratch:

It did end yesterday for us, until next year. It did continue further than we mapped last year & may go a little further but it was pretty much completed. (see other post)

If we found that in the States, we would call that a Cracker Jack prize ::)

Very nice  (no pot metal there)

Very cool find!! :headbang: :icon_thumright: Before I clicked on the title of this post I was half out of my seat thinking you found a Gladius intact which would be absolutely epic to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if you find the hilt of one one of these days!

Everytime I look at a post from New York it makes me sad that we can never find stuff that old in California :laughing7:

Cru do you think that was silver plated at one time? It looks like there are faint traces of silver in the pits and crevices....would add a little bling factor if it was for a necklace.

Brian
