No, its a Roman bronze pendant in the shape of a sword/dagger favoured by the military

It did end yesterday for us, until next year. It did continue further than we mapped last year & may go a little further but it was pretty much completed. (see other post)

Very cool find!! Before I clicked on the title of this post I was half out of my seat thinking you found a Gladius intact which would be absolutely epic to say the least. I wouldn't be surprised if you find the hilt of one one of these days!

Everytime I look at a post from New York it makes me sad that we can never find stuff that old in California

Cru do you think that was silver plated at one time? It looks like there are faint traces of silver in the pits and crevices....would add a little bling factor if it was for a necklace.

No pretty sure its just bronze. Bear in mind new bronze with no patina looks gold
