Found a small buckle today. Can anyone help with ID?

Found this buckle today. It appears to have some writing on it with stars on either side of the writing. Can anybody ID this buckle? I threw a nickel in there for size comparison.

i have found about 40 of them exactly like it / but with different writting on them/some say army. i think its like some kind of suspender strap

im not sure but guess would be 1890 to 1920 i think the army ones i found are ww1 they look just the same
