Hello

Went by an old railroad station today, found a 1955 Wheat, but I found this interesting token (Pete's Inn - Good for .10 in trade). Anyone have any information on this??

petes_inn.webp

Thanks!

Many, many company's bars, casino's etc. used trade tokens in various denominations you can find literally hundreds and hundreds of various examples on E-bay if you type in trade token. You don't happen to live in Kansas city or near there do ya? Either way great find it's always nice to add things like that to you're collection.

Interesting find. ;D assume it's old with a .10 trade value. Couldn't get a piece of gum today with it. :o

Nice token. 8)
I believe it's called a maverick token since it can't be attributed to a particular town and is somewhat generic in nature. You might check with the local library for an old Polk's directory (probably around the 20's-30's) and see if the business is listed.

Great idea. Thanks!

Also, are there any online resources to possibly look up this token?

Thanks!

I see a Pete's Inn in K.C. via Google. I sent them an email and a photo of the token, maybe they can shed some light on it.

Thanks for pointing me to that direction.

No problem. I found them as well that's why I had mentioned KC. They seem to be a popular club that has been around awhile. Let us know what they say, Daniel

what did it ring up as #'s ?

Penny range, with more ferrous. I thought it was going to be an Indian when I was digging it up. I use smart find, so don't know the exact numbers.

Hello

Got an email back from Pete's in K.C., and it doesn't look like it's from them. They opened in 1972 and the owner doesn't think the token came from there.

Oh well.. it was worth a shot.

Thanks!
