Went on a two field hunt today with marinedad. Somehow we survived early march weather in May.
Cold and windy the first field was a short lived hunt with finds of can slaw and a few RIO's. On to
field 2 Mark was telling what was found a few weeks ago and 3 homesites once stood on this site.
We started at the east end of this field and were going to work are way west 500-600 feet. 20 min.
into the hunt as Mark was about to move his truck I saw the non-point end of this beauty sticking
out of the dirt. Wow an unbroken arrowhead, my first ever. We endured the wind and cold for another
hour only to pull more can slaw and iron from this site. Weather is what it is. Back at Marks I worked
with him on how to post pics with his posts. HH DFW

Great arrow head and IH, Rich.

Now that's a sweet bonus find  Nice!

1874 was from yesterdays hunt.

Nice looking arrowhead! Congratulations

Great save on that arrowhead!
Whenever I see the ones posted on here it amazes me that they were made by hand with basically nothing but another rock and a piece of leather.

Have never found one yet - but maybe one of these days I'll see one in the tick infested fields and woods we've been going to lately!

Good luck on your next time out there.

Very nice arrowhead. That 1874 cleaned up nice also

Really nice condition on that Arrow Head. Doesn't seem to be damaged in any way. Used to hunt them just for the sake of finding Indian artifacts, and have found many in plowed fields. Found a spot over looking a bluff some years back in a field that was littered with chips and broken arrow heads and spear heads and a very few arrow heads in good condition. Cherish them as they are hard to come by and a lot of work to find. Walked many many miles looking for them.

Very much enjoyed seeing your find. Rick :coffee2:

Thanks for the replies guys. I just got lucky to see it.

Awesome Rich! Very similar to a classic Fox Valley point, Woodland period most likely. But you should put it over on the artifacts forum and get someone who can give a good ID on it! Great condition! I can slice through paper like a razor with some I've found, amazing technology that still works even in the disposable age.

Great find!

This one is still has sharp edges.

I would rather find that than a Barber Quarter. Congrats on a great find.
