Went back to the old Church site and hunted the heavily iron infested area again.
Again with the Deus 2 and Gary's "Tekkna" program.
This smaller Church was built in 1832 and burned down in 1930.

Only got one good repeating hit during the one hour hunt - a 1858 Flying Eagle Cent.
Hunted this 60 ft. by 60 ft. area for a total of over (15) hours now.
So far I've found (2) Flying Eagle Cents and (17) Indian Cents.

Something to think about ...
When I got this one good repeating hit during the hunt I took a small side step to the left and to then to the right.
Got no target signal at all from either side - a shift of only 5 or 10 Degrees and I couldn't hear the target at all.
All the iron cut would have cut me off from the target if I didn't walk over it from just the right direction.
Lesson learned - when your hunting a heavily iron infested site - hunting from two or three different directions is just NOT good enough.
Grid search the area from two or three different directions and then start swinging from random directions and see if you get lucky.

The second photo is of a NON DUG Flying Eagle Cent.

Good Hunting !

I have only found 3 in all the years of MDing , not a common find! Congratulations
Same here - I've only ever found (3) Flying Eagle Cents in my (16) years in the hobby.
One about ten years ago and the other at the same site where I found this one just last month.

Very Cool!!! Congrats!!!

These Definitely don't come up much. I found three at the same site a few years ago. 0 since. Congratulations

Nice find…..only found one and yours is in much better shape. Agree 1000% with the angle comment. I “hunted out” a spot a few years ago….bored, had an hour over lunch, rewalked it (odd angle) and found 3 flat buttons in 15 min. Angle and soil moisture is key

Your doing very well mark !!! KEEP IT UP !!!
