Looks like there is a human figure, and above to the left double hash marks from a nine o'clock position to the one o'clock position. I don't think it is a representation of the Shoshone shields. You can see it better when you zoom in on the larger photo.

This is basically what I could seen in person, it's definitely hard to see the faded parts in the pic.
