Found at a late 1800's logging camp

I found this on the banks of my favorite river that I like metal detecting on, has everything along the banks from copper artifacts to fur trade & logging. Here is a bell I found; says "1878 SAIGNELEGIER" on one side & on the other it says "CHIANTEL FONDEUR'' Here's the pictures.

Appears to be a Swiss cow bell made in Switerland

Thanks for the link, that bell is what I have, mine doesn't have the clapper.

Just curious but what caused the top to be more rusty than the rest of it ?

The top is not made of brass, it's made of iron
