Found first ring today

Not gold, but hey, a ring nonetheless. Also found three clad quarters and a crusty clad penny. First day out with borrowed Coinmaster Pro.

Thanks guys! I was doing the happy dance when I found it, I thought for sure it was gold. Sadly not, but as my first ring found, it'll now be my good luck charm while hunting. That feeling when the sand cleared away and I saw the band peek out for the first time was so awesome. I can't imagine what it must be like to find a fat (real) gold ring, or coin, or anything like that. I can't wait

I know that feeling all to well!!I not only found my first ring this year,moments later I found a second one.

Thanks all, I am definitely in the obsession stage. I've been into many other hobbies and pastimes over my life, but none that have the potential to actually pay back or give you treasure to simply enjoy and maybe pass down. What I love about this is -

1- It's nerdy, as am I.
2- It's a solo sport (see #1)
3- It's unlimited in it's potential. You might find anything.
4- It has the potential to pay back.
5- You get some sort of exercise, if only developing a popeye arm from swinging and some mild cardio.
6- It's mysterious and an art form.
7- Chicks dig it (right?).
8- I live on the beach, why wouldn't I?

Cool to dig ring your first time out! My first 2 years I dug some silver & junk rings. Second year dug 2 heavy gold rings a couple months apart! Ya never know what's beeping at ya from underground! Like your 8 detecting reasons, lol. HAVE FUN! Andi

My thoughts exactly! I found my first IH Penny the other day and almost died...I shook I was so excited. If I actually found something of value I'd probably have a heart attack! I'm ready to find out :P.
