image.webp while out with my daughter the other day enjoying a bit of a cool toe dip to escape the humidity I noticed this little chunk of shiny down by my toes, and was wondering what it might be, someone had suggested that it might be a platinum nugget but that's just too darn good to be true. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Hmmm looks very interesting. Definitely could be. Is it heavy? What state did you find it in?
If it is a Plat nugget it is very valuable.

You need to have it tested or do a Specific Gravity Test on it! It really looks like a blob from melted Aluminum cans that has been tumbled in the river for some time. I hope I am wrong!

This one is a challenge without more details. As others have mentioned, melted "nuggets" of aluminium/tin are common in rivers, but rarely platinum. Take it to a local rock hobby store and you'll have your answer.

It's interesting looking, maybe you can take it to a "we buy gold place". They should have acid to test it for platinum, or you can buy it online. Hope it's platinum but unlikely.
