I believe it's an old mirror and maybe a handle to a hair brush or pick? Also a lock maybe for luggage or a hat box. Fun little find

Andres pencils are great, from the hobby shop. You can also use a wooden toothpick at a very steep angle(almost flat) to wipe the old dirt away. A brass brush also works without scratching the piece.
