That strap lock is a real beauty!
Thank you! I'm trying to find more information on it. My son (11 years old) is like a mini Historian and loves any information we get on what we find

Any advice on cleaning to keep it in the next shape and minimize damage?
Andres pencils are great, from the hobby shop. You can also use a wooden toothpick at a very steep angle(almost flat) to wipe the old dirt away. A brass brush also works without scratching the piece.
