found little gold band in a tot lot today.

hello t-hunter's.

found a gold band today in a tot lot about 5 inches deep and registered a TID of 67 on the DEUS. the only marking inside are SGM. any help determining carat from just those letters would be great. it also weighs 2 grams. thaNKS FOR LOOKING

That's got the look of gold but not a positive. Was that 5inches in dirt or wood chips? That far down in dirt a fake ring would start turning, of course depending on how long it was there.

Nice ring find! Now, if it's not marked with the purity, there's a good chance it isnt gold; BUT, get it tested! Got my fingers crossed for you; it looks like gold.

Congrats! It's kinda got an older look to it.
If it's got the weight and look of gold, and it's in the right range on your detector then it's probably the real deal.
Never hurts to have a test kit on hand.
