T-2,
started looking for these, last year, i discovered i was about 50 ft from findind them last year, the area is so overgrown, if i wasnt above them an known what i was looking for would never had seen them, spent a good part of the day trying to chase the old narrow gauge wooden RR down, cannot believe the work these guys had to put in to place this RR in, in the 1860's just to make charcoal, this area is just full of hills and ravines, had to be full of trussels, Ive found 13 of 125 along the series of kilns, didn't really figure out the layout of this site yet, where the horse's barns ans stuff, like i said it grown in, on a flood plain for a stream, the last kiln looks to be built on logs about 3 ft from the stream, must of been a pain to work. i came out of the woods with 5 ticks on me, didn't dig any of the iron targets yet, the last site i still haven't covered the hole thing, about 15 acres, and you cannot go more than a foot with out hitting some kind of iron object, lots of strapping. i did pull 3 winchester 45-85 shell casings, any body have any info, they were about 8 in. so they are fairly old. tried to take some pics but the camera did not cooperate, doesn't matter haven't figured out how to crop them yet anyhow. stepping over a log in the tall grass just about stepped on a Bambi, didn't even see him. will try to get some pics next time, camera worked latter in the day, shot some pics of the kids. thompy
