Found these today on a farm just off of Shiloh Battlefield area. Dug all three from same hole. They are lead and look old enough but I have no idea what they are. Any ideas would be appreciated. Place known to produce CW artifacts....I am hoping these fit the bill!

Um... I think a gentle wash/cleaning is in order here.

Arrc.....I washed them gently with just water...was not sure about putting a brush to them. They are coated in white like the bullets are when found. From what I can tell there is no writing on them. The biggest is about 1 1/2 inches and the two smaller ones are about 1 1/4 inches. Do you think I should try a brush to clean them?

Ehhhhh no... maybe soak on water for a bit... then spray off in sink...
Try that first... just in case.
Maybe someone here can identify before you do more...
But no brush yet.
Someone will "pipe in" on this "next move".
I just would hate recommending your next move on these yet.

They look like flattened bullets or roundballs used for either poker chips or checkers.

As far as cleaning them, I wouldn't do anything to them.

Cool relics!

I agree with creskol....probably gaming pieces of some sort which was a common practice back in the day just leave them as is.

Neat finds.
