Found Oklahoma Tax Mill Token

I almost tossed this in the trash thinking it was the end of a shotgun shell. After a little rub i noticed it had words, not the 12 Ga I was expecting. I'm glad I did give it a second look. These were used to pay percentages on one cent taxes around 1935. Mine has a 5 and some have 1, maybe 5 being 1/2 cent and the 1 is 1/10 I'm not sure. I never knew such tokens where around. makes me wonder if I've thrown these away in the past.

I have found a bunch of the 1mil tax tokens, but I have not found a 5mil yet...

Beautiful. I have found Arizona and several Colorado. Colo is made of aluminum and usually comes out quite chewed, but is recognizable by the + shaped hole in the middle. These were such a miniscule amount of money, but apparently important enough to be necessary. Even back then, nobody wanted the State to have an extra 5/1000th of a cent extra.
