Definitely metal outer casing and appears to be mineral rock of some sort inside. Any help would be appreciated thank you

Wow...been staring at this thing for quite some time and can't quite make heads or tails of it. Looks interesting to say the least, nice find !!

Simply, no it's not.

Congrats on your find, no idea what it is

Oh my. ....it appears that you have found the long lost TOP SECRET ROCK.

Looks like limestone on the inside, can you confirm limestone on the beachhead at all?, UK is loaded with limestone. I've seen iron concretion in conjunction with limestone but not covering. Is it magnetic? I would cross post over to the rocks minerals section to let the wizards hash it out.

Some more photos I've taken....

Maybe this could be Iron?

Thanks I'm really puzzled, I've uploaded some new photos and I've emailed whitby archeology dept

Maybe this could be Iron?
Looks a little iron like, but if its not some kind of natural iron stone, & its a metal jacket, then probably just a bit of smelting junk/workings.
