Hi all,
A newb from Michigan here. I've been enjoying and learning from this site for the last few days and decided I would sign up.

I went out exploring my local beach today since we had unusually warm weather in the forties today. I found a small handful of clad on my very first trip out!

Not a bad haul considering that I don't have a detector and was on the beach for about 15 minutes.

I got out of my car at the beach and found the quarter within 20 feet of the car. all the coins were just lying on the surface in places where the wind had stripped off the top layers of sand. I think I may actually get a cheap detector and give this beach another run when the weather is better.

If its in your price range check out the fisher F2. Great entry detector to learn with and you'll have no problem finding coins with it.

You will be a coin monster with a metal detector !!! Better get you one son !!!

Welcome to Tnet.
Looks like you don't really need a detector. lol

The county was there with front end loader moving the sand around. Shortly after I cleared a spot they pushed sand over it leaving it clean and smooth.

Welcome to TNET!

Reads like you have a great site to use in learning a detector and has the potential of becoming your honey hole..
