I took my 12yo daughter over to the spot of the old school house where I found the 1892 barber dime. We hit it pretty hard for a few hours and didn't dig a single coin. Just pulltabs and iron. BUT, we got some COOL iron!

Took about 30 minutes to dig the big one up with a lesche digger.

We even found the separate folding piece that attaches to it. We plan to hit the spot again and see if we can find a match to the complete side.

for those that don't know what it is. This was the site of a school house in the late 1800's- early 1900's

Hey Nathan, I have a school house of this age that i have been hunting for about a week. There are around 7 or 8 of those desk frames under the school house in the crawl space, but no 2 match. I was wanting to put new wood on a pair of them, ohwell.....i have also dug up a few peices of them around the building. Only keeper finds so far are 3 wheats and 4 misc. buttons.....but there is alot of trash and a pile of shell casings around the building so the good stuff could still be there.....good luck to you....
