The one on the top was found with fishing line on it.

The one on the top and bottom are both made to spin on the copper wire, the one in the middle seems to be cast to the wire and doesn't spin, I think that is the oldest of the three.

Any comments?

Thanks.

My comment would be, one day you will get a signal and think to yourself, ohh man other fishing sinker, then pull out a gold and diamond ring! Good luck mate!

The one in the middle looks like it got smashed. That might be hindering the swivel action.

Congrats on finding something worth bringing home, won't always be the case. You just never know. Happy hunting

Lead is up to $1.02 per pound. I know it's not too encouraging but if you were to find enough of those you would be rolling in the green stuff.

Those fishing sinkers are still commonly used today so they may not be that old but finding them is still fun... beats coming home empty handed. If you collect enough of them, you may decide to try "real" fishing while taking a break from "dirt" fishing! Putting food on the table for the cost of a hook and bait (you've already got the sinker!) is pretty much like using up batteries and finding stuff, detecting. GL & HH.

I bring my lead home and put it in a empty windshield washer jug. I'll cash it in one.

eventually I will melt mine for casting into bullets for the ole muzzle loader

I'm getting quite a collection of sinkers myself. I throw 'em in my tackle box. They'll get used eventually.
