I went out this morning for a couple hours, and found these nuggets along with these 2 coins.. The one looks like a penny but can anyone identify the other coin?? They are about the same in size

My buddy said the same thing about being aluminum but these nuggets are much heavier in weight! Beautiful little nuggets

I also have found many nuggets in my time detecting, but most are aluminum and you can tell right away. Although I have found 1 nugget, which SCREAMS silver, and has a weight as if it is silver. It is a nice dense nugget. It has a nice grey patina also. But I really am not sure what it is. It was found at an 1880's site. and was the only one. Someone said it could be "old silver solder" or something, but i haven't heard much about this. I guess the only thing left to do is test it sometime. Its never been a major priority though.

can you put a scale on these for some reference please? Also the general location would help....look like bullets to me, but difficult to tell without a scale

hi, I find similar nuggets in lake erie. mine are lead with zinc mixed in. the old wooden ships would seal the decks with hot lead to make them water tight. if there is a shipwreck nearby it might be from it burning or people melting it to make bullets, lead soldiers, etc.

we have a lot of the nuggets found along the Penobscot river shoreline. i always assumed they were from soldering.

I've found that kind of thing a lot around the old Rail lines here in pa (the abandoned ones) it's likely some kind of solder for repairing metal- if you had old train lines around that area that's likely what it is... and yeah it sure does come up as silver. I've even found this stuff along the river banks 300 yards from the old rr bed. it's a disappointment to dig it- but you just have to not knowing if it is a coin or not... good luck man. could you do some closer looks at the coins? no telling what they are with out more details. HH man.

I was told nuggets like that were melted pop/beer cans from a bonfire...not sure of the validity of it though.
