I found these two coins about 10 feet apart at the beach today...

Hate to say it but I would bet those are 100% fake.

Ive heard many stories of people finding fakes and also of people thinking they were fake but were real

I think they are fake... Very light and I can't get them clean..

Fake or real, still an interesting find! :occasion14:

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

they are corroding like white metal does...ive heard of TH'er hunters buying them cheap and throwing them out just to "gotcha"
other hunters

Fun finds and a good story...Maybe just practice ‘till the real ones show up!

They look fake, but they are still an interesting find. On another note, my niece wanted me to order her an official piece of 8 from the treasure ship Atocha found by Mel Fisher. About 10 years ago, she was married in St. Kitts Virgin Island, and was out in the ocean and all of the sudden while sitting on the beach, she realized it was missing. I do know there is one real one out there somewhere near St. Kitts !

Agreed with others copies/fakes.

lOOK FAKE, wHAT DID THEY RING UP AT? DID YOU DO A SIVER TEST ON THEM?

My fake cob was made out of lead. Still an interesting find, though.

Yeah, the chances of two genuine cobs being the exact same shape and stampings would be astronomical. Unfortunately, they're cast copies made for the souvenir trade.

TH,
Which beach on St. Kittts? (just in case I get there after the C-19 lifts).
Don.....
Sorry Don, I did not know the name of the specific beach area we were in. I don't even remember the name of the motel we stayed at. We were just there for the wedding and a 5 day vacation.
