I know nothing about it, but that is a great find. I'd love to find that. Looks like it's in great shape.

Looks like a Williams Cleaner mold..

Cool find

It's wayyy too big to be a Williams cleaner mold. It's .31 caliber. It's definitely a colt

Hey man i am not good with bullets at all i was just looking at the profile of the bullet..

It is a cool find as we don't see many..

That's an awesome find! First mold I've seen in quite some time. Great find! Congrats!

Is it 4 cavity or is the picture fooling me?

It's hard to say if there's a fourth. There is another cavity there but it's on the opposite side of the mold, which is strange, and it's not a complete sphere. So I'm not really sure what the purpose is

Molds are made with a cavity on the opposite side. It only takes the lead a second to harden. The cavities by the hinge look smaller than the other round ball and conical.

Yeah, they are smaller, but they are all spherical except for the .31 colt on the outside. I think the one in the middle is a .32 ball, and the one on the far right is a mold for shot to be used with the ball. Like a "buck & ball" would be used in a musket.

Very very cool mold!

Man, you guys are KILLING me with the awesome civil war finds. That mold is outstanding and in great shape. To me that's a banner find.

I am guessing it was made for an officer that way they would have different caliber bullets. I found one a while back made for the officers in the revolutionary war. very cool had the initials of the guy who made it--Josiah Miller

That thing is amazing. Congrats.

Killer bullet mold! Loving the finds being posted right now... the combination of warm(er) weather and everyone having time off around the holidays, has turned up some of the best stuff I've seen on here all year. It would be awesome to find a mold like this.

Well I'm sure getting an edumication.
Tanks for the post and congrats.

Cool find. Here's .581301webcat03_img_25.webp with a cavity on the opposite side. Says it was used to make buckshot (buck-n-ball).
