Found this shoe today

Found this shoe on an old abandon golf course today. It was about 4 in deep. The golf course is about 93 years old. Any idea what this came off of? It is about 4 1/2 inches wide. Thanks in advance.

Do an internet search on "closed horseshoe" and you'll find other examples.

They seem to be primarily for working horses to prevent splits, and to treat abcess.

thanks I am a city boy and don't know a thing about horses. didn't think of closed horseshoe although it makes since. Thanks again.
