Hey guys, gotta button here I need help with. It's kinda hard to see because it's worn, but the front looks like an anchor, and the back looks like a Fleur de lis. Found it at a colonial homesite where I already found an authenticated Brown Bess buttplate, which is now housed at Ft. Ashby in WV. The museum would like the button too, but the curator is unsure of the buttons origin. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, but the marking on your 1-piece brass flatbutton's back is not the Fleur-Des-Lis symbol of France. It is the three-feather-plumes symbol of Wales, which is part of Britain. It is also seen in one of the four quadrangles in the British National Coat-of-Arms. You can see a clearer view of it on a flatbutton in the "collage" photo below, previously posted by this forum's ID-helper Don_in_SJ. It is commonly seen on early-1800s brass flatbuttons manufactured in that country.

Nothing to be sorry about! That's why I posted it, I wasn't sure. But, now I know, so I thank you! I've found numerous British buttons, but I've never seen that symbol before. Plus...it's worn. Never 100% sure in that situation. Thanks again!

You're welcome. Whenever a digger finds something he/she has never seen before, or has but can't ID it, or "thinks" he/she knows but isn't 100% sure, posting it here in the What Is It? forum is the smart thing to do. :)
