fri/sat's take
Fri: Hit a "sneak peak" yard sale that turned out to be a basement clean-out when I got there (6 mins from my house too). Got 2 boxes of vintage tools, 1 box of unknown glassware, a rug beater, and a sealed 7-up bottle for $29. No major score here, just good tools that should sell well and easily. The hand saws are Disston and should sell quite well. There are a bunch of Avon bottles of men's aftershave in interesting shapes.
Sat: Went out EARLY and it paid off. I was one of the first to a rather large yard sale with an entire trailer full of vintage tools. Made a pile of what I wanted and my offer of $30 was accepted. I am particularly happy with the levels even if they arent in great shape. They are Disston, Stanley SW, and Universal Level Co. Also got some brass as a bonus. The dremel is nice but it is missing the charger so I need to find one of those.
My "fail" for the day was in a wealthy neighborhood I found 2 Louis Vuitton bags. I asked the lady if they were fakes she tells me they are definitely REAL and they were a gift from her mother. She agrees to $15 for the pair. Now, this is a category I know NOTHING about and it should stay that way because sure enough, they are fakes after I looked them up. Oh well, live and learn.
Also, a first for me. NO JEWELRY! But I did get a Boz Scaggs - Hits! LP.
Anyone know anything about the crude looking knife?
