I went to the Henderson Mine yesterday and saw a bit of snow up there. Seems maybe the major snow is only coming in Feb, March & April anymore. Though they did get a few inches in the Nucla-Naturita area last Monday morning, which folk there seemed surprised about. It feels like the older I get, the colder the cold feels. I'm thinking that's what turns Canadians into Arizona snow birds. We just ain't got the snow here much yet. Maybe this weekend. Fox 31 sent Dan Daru over here in the PinPoint Weather Beast the other day and even he said 'maybe we came to the wrong town for snow'.
I know exactly what you talking about. A coworker decided to come down from Montana and we made our way to western Colorado today. They shut down Vail, so we headed to Monarch. We had lunch in BV and they were having beautiful weather there. Then headed to Monarch pass where the snow was again whipping up in a fury. Avalanches I guess are coming down one after the next in some areas of the high county.Oh we got the snow, TR. Every day except yesterday since last week. HIgh winds, cold temps, I70 shut down various times, and still half the Front Range made it up here. We took their money and sent them home. Business as usual for ski season now til next month when we got President's
Day.
