Beautiful day in Illinois today, sunny and in the high
50's.

Hit a closed, (in 1940), amusement park for about 3
hours. Was able to pick up a good bottle, (only my
second), after years of searching, a condiment type,
but different than my first; think this one is newer,
has a seam going up the side.

Also stopped in at the town library and was able to
get a copy of the 1925 insurance map, which list the
buildings in the park.

Spent the afternood working along a man made canal
and pulled up some items from the 50's - 60's, I think.

All in all a good day with the 2nd bottle out of the
amusement park; but a long day.

Stopped at the local American Legion and had two
Miller Lights and two shots of Jack.. Everything was
better after a long day.

Will post individual items as I get more info.

all have a good un..........

WoW! WTG! Looks like you had a great day, and you even found the required harmonica reed. Not too shabby!

Awesome finds!! Is that a BB gun? I have one that loooks just like that, even missing the handle that fell off! Is it a diasy 880? :D

Jake,

Crossman 760. Posted it on its own post.

have a good un...........

Wow Sherm I guess you did make a day of it, very nice finds. ;)

Looks like you had a great day, Sherm. Looking forward to my next outing...Joe

:D Dang, I was gonna' say that a Crossman... had one just like it as a kid... and MINE TOO broke in the same way. My older sister sat on it... I was young and dumb, so I called her fat... in retrospect I'm sure it would've broken even if I'd sat on it, even at my 60 lbs at the time. Nice finds!

Well done Shermanville, looks like you had a great day of digging! Some of the white glass looks like ointment jars. You may even have an old vegemite jar. They used to be made of white or 'milk glass' as it's referred to. A close up shot of them would be great, then I'd know. Keep on Hunting!

Hey Sherm. Some really nice finds. Wonder if the BB gun was used at the amusement park at one of those hit the target win a prize things. Congrats...Lance

Nice haul Sherm. My brother has a bottle dump down in his woods
He keeps asking me to go down there and help him dig it up
Some day H H

Comfy,

pellet rifle was found in woods along a canal, near
where the park was. Not in the park.

Park did have a shooting gallery, but it was 22 shorts.
Have dug a bunch of the spent cartridges where they
use to dump them.

have a good un.............

Looks like you had a great day ...and two shots of jack made it even better......check the bottoms of those old white jars....If marked CPC(California Perfume Company) ,they are worth something. Nice finds!!!!!

I see you got the required mason jar lid as well. Would be nice if it was still attached and full of other than 60 year old green beans. Good luck and HH!

Angela,
4 are "Ponds" jars, others unmarked. Ponds is a hand, face cream.
Very common in bottle dumps, hard thick glass. I was not keeping
them in the past until I learned that some folks collect the different
markings on the bottom. Very little value, but just as a collection.

NorthEast,
Give bottles a try, you will get hooked very fast and learn what to
look for.

Gypsy,
no CPC.

Stoney,
One of these days the Mason jar full of gold coins ;D

all have a good un..........

Sherm,

Cool bunch of glass you found. I like the glass when it's in one piece, most of the ones I find are pretty much in pieces. A few cold ones after a hard day at the office is always refreshing!!
