So found this today at a old home site in the middle of the woods. it is clearly broken but check out the angle of the handle. Does anyone have an idea out this tools use?

It would not have had a curved handle. At least not curved inside the eye. There are different ways to forge an axe head ,one way leaves a seam where yours is broke. That is a common way for them to break when you beat on the back with a hammer. Someone has tryed to use it as wedge. Its just the way its broke that makes it look like it had a curved handle.

You can see what I mean in this pic , see where this axe is cracked. it is a curved break.
But the eye is behind the break and is not curved.

It is defiantly curved, I can see how the brake would make it look that way but the back of the ax is curved good.

If you look at the non-broken side you can get a better idea of the curve. if the handle was a straight shaft, the cutting angle would be all wrong. I have it in some vinegar to help clean it some and hope to use som

Thats not the back that is the side, bent around.
Its just a normal axe broken and bent.
