Fur trade Axe 'AVF' maker's mark?

Trade axe found last week found last week and finally cleaned up. There is a clear 'AVF' stamped and am hopeful there is some documented history (hopefully).

The axe was found amongst lots of other Dutch / British finds. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
