I have an opportunity to pick up a NIB G2 but im mainly a coin hunter,How does the G2 perform on the deeper coins? i.e. Lets say a silver quarter at 6-8 inches? would the G2 have problems with being able to get that deep or with masking it? Thanks in advance!!

HH John

EDIT: My Delta 4000 took a crap on me but i liked its performance for a low grade/price detector,Im planning to stick with First Texas but id like to get some feedback on the G2 before i buy one,And correct me if im wrong but the 9.5 x 5.5 NEL coil for the delta/gamma will work on the G2 as well? Or does the G2 have the plug push type connector like the T2?

The connector is a screw in. Omega coils will work on a G2 but the G2 was designed for a DD coil. The G2 is great for pulling coins out of trashy areas. Hope that helps some.

Maybe Dave J can help me on this question here, how can the omega coils work on the g2 when the frequencies are so far apart? the omega runs at 7.8khz and the g2 runs at 19khz?

I would like to know too!

Most of what's said about coils and frequency on forums these days is urban mythology dating back to the 1970's. Fisher CZ's and Minelab Sovereigns have been running at multiple frequencies for 21 years now.

another thing how are frequencies selected for different machines or how does one build a machine to select the desired frequency?
