garrett 2500 vs quattro

Hey guys, I purchased the garrett 2500 about 2 wks ago and I love it. My buddy is looking to buy a detector, which one do you think would do better in nj soil. I told him about mine, but i am biased so he wanted unbiased opinions. I tried explaining the difference between single and mult freq but i dont quite understand it myself. Woulld appreciate some help.

I don't know anything about the Garrett but I have the Quattro and never regretted it! I found it very simple to use, and it detects really deep! I highly recommend reading Andy Sabich's book "Mastering the Quattro" if your friend decides to get one.

Do a lot of research on the internet. Metal detector reviews.com has a lot and I'm sure if you search around this forum I have read other links like this.

Good luck on his decision, I believe all the big name detector companies are good, just a matter of personal prefference.

Don't overlook the Garrett Sea Hunter MarkII. I recently bought one and it's a PI machine with some ....just a little discrimination. It is next to the top of the line in the Garrett lineup. I was in the same boat recently and read a ton of posts and all the information I could get my hands on. I found several posts with significant success with it. JIM
